Face to Face Networking as a Strategy

To be honest, I have never liked it, mainly because most events take place at the crack of dawn – and I love my bed.

Or they take place after hours. This means I have already put in some 10 x hours in the workplace and like most I am now exhausted.

Well after a year’s reprieve, they appear to be back and like most people I do realize the importance of them.

They are great for your personal brand

They are great for your business brand.

Most also have good food on offer.

The trick is to not get involved in too many networking events, you need to be very picky about the ones you want to attend and cull the others.

Research is the key here. Due diligence about the people that may be attending and the industries they represent.

Are they the right market for me?

Will I have a good chance of connecting with the right people?

It needs to be a two-way win – I can help them and they can help me.

Sometimes you really do not know, so you have to attend a number of them to gather this information.

However, at the end of the day, we must recognize that Networking has to be a vital component of our growth strategy.

Plus, you get to build some very strong and worthwhile relationships with people who have great connections,

Is networking a part of your growth strategy and why?
